“A Christmas Carol” or “Christmas Time” came to me as a song a few years back as a clear melody.. Almost complete as the song you will hear and as you will experience it in the recording.
I didn’t know at the time that it was a Christmas carol in the making. All I knew was that I had the song stuck in m head going round & round in a kind of loop!
One day, a friend heard me humming the melody out loud and he said: (it sounds like a Christmas Song!)
I always loved Christmas and the magic of the season, so I was open to the message I received by him. I see songs like my children; I conceive and give birth to them but I am not in control of how they develop completely. Something natural and organic happened and people’s reaction to them and how the song is received out there in the universe (market) is the real indication of the true character of the song. Like children, we hope the song is good and has the ability to make a difference to all who encounter or hear it!
As I began to write the words to the melody, actually I began to tell a story; the basic ingredient began as nostalgia and then hope. You see, for children who are fortunate as most of us were, Christmas is a magical time where all is fun and love. As we get older, though, magic is somehow worn away and we are often left to isolation and solitude. Christmas time reintroduces the possibility that if we give ourselves a chance, we may find love and magic, in a glance or in our hearts. We can recreate based on the past but also based on the present and future in a world of new possibilities.
Christmas time was conceived, recorded and is now to be released in the world to help transform people's lives for the better.. From the bottom of my heart; I really hope so!
